What is lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system. The lymph nodes, spleen and bone marrow can become affected among other organs.

There are different types of lymphoma:

- Hodgkin´s Lymphoma or Hodgkin´s Disease.

- Non-Hodgkin´s Lymphoma.

As it is a potentially curable disease it is important to know its signs and symptoms for a prompt diagnosis.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF LYMPHOMA

 



Painless enlargement of lymph nodes in the
neck, armpit or groin.


1- Neck
2- Armpit
3- Groin

Unexplained weight loss

Recurrent fevers

Excessive sweating,
especially at night.

Persistent fatigue and lack of energy.

IMPORTANT:
Some of the symptoms mentioned above can be seen in other illnesses different from Lymphoma. It is common to have enlarged lymph nodes after having an infection. The difference is that these lymph nodes are painful and disappear after some time.
